Most AI asks you to send your questions, documents and personal information somewhere else. Amerus doesn’t.
Amerus lives on your computer. Your conversations, documents, memories and personal information stay there with it. What you ask Amerus isn’t sent to an outside AI model. It isn’t added to someone else’s system. And it doesn’t leave your computer unless you choose to send or share it.
That means you can use Amerus for the things that are actually personal — your finances, your family, your business, your legal documents, your plans, your private thoughts and the things you wouldn’t put into an ordinary AI service.
Private by where it lives
Not a promise about handling. A decision about location.
Amerus doesn’t simply promise to treat your information carefully. It is designed to keep it with you in the first place.
Processed on your machine
Your personal AI and the information you give it live on your device. There is no outside AI model reading your conversations.
Never someone else’s training data
Your private knowledge does not become part of a larger AI model. It stays what it is: yours.
Stored under your control
Documents, memories and conversations are kept on your Mac and encrypted at rest. Remove them and they are gone.
You decide when the door opens
Connections are deliberate acts.
When you intentionally ask Amerus to send an email, share a document, retrieve something you’ve stored online, or use another connected service, Amerus can connect to the outside world to do what you’ve asked.
- You choose each connection, one at a time
- You choose exactly which folders or mail are synced
- A connected service talks to that provider directly — Google’s sign-in, for example, never shows Amerus your password
- You can exclude anything, or disconnect entirely, at any time
A Connection does something you asked for, when you ask for it. It is not a channel that sits open reporting on you.
Everyone under one roof
One Mac. Separate lives.
A single Amerus installation supports several people, each with their own profile — their own conversations, memories and documents, optionally protected by a PIN. Opening Amerus always starts at a profile picker; nothing from the previous session is visible until someone signs in.
A document can stay private to you, be shared with specific profiles, or be made available to everyone on that Mac. You choose which, per document.
